  • Season 3 to cover the Culling Game arc, showcasing a battle royale-style showdown among sorcerers.
  • No details yet: The release date and episode count for Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 remain unconfirmed

As the second season of Jujutsu Kaisen draws to an end, fans can rejoice in some exciting news! The good news for fans is that they won’t have to wait too long for the next season, as MAPPA announced on Thursday that the upcoming chapter of the popular supernatural action anime is already in production.

The announcement was made via a video shared on the series’ official website, which revealed that the upcoming third season would be adapting the “Culling Game” arc of Gege Akutami’s original manga. The storyline thrusts our cherished sorcerers into a battle royale-like scenario, orchestrated by none other than Noritoshi Kamo.

Though the third season has been announced officially, the studio hasn’t shared any information on its release date, episode count, and more. We expect MAPPA to confirm all these details over the next few months.

There was a two-year gap in the release of the first and the second season. So, don’t expect to see Season 3 release before late 2025 or early 2026.

As per the official blog post from the JJK website, here is the plotline of Season 3 (translated from Japanese to English):

[Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3] Culling Game dynamically depicts the killing of those who have been given a spell created by the mysterious and worst magician in history, Norihito Kamo.

Since its debut in 2020, the anime version of Jujutsu Kaisen has gathered a fervent fanbase, propelling it to join the ranks of highly popular contemporary shonen anime like Demon Slayer and My Hero Academia.

In 2021, MAPPA treated fans to Jujutsu Kaisen 0, a full-length movie delving into events before the anime’s storyline, introducing Yuta Okkotsu, a Jujutsu sorcerer and former pupil of Satoru Gojo.

Both seasons of Jujutsu Kaisen as well as the movie, Jujutsu Kaisen 0 are available to stream on Crunchyroll.
