If a novel series gets the sale of fewer than 20000 copies then the chances are low for its anime continuation. There are famous series like Accel World with 50K+ copies sold and still waiting for season 2.

The manga series Wise Man’s Grandchild has much more sales than its light novel series. Volume 15 of Wise Man’s Grandchild manga series has sold about 1 lakh copies since its release. Volume 18 also sold more than 80 thousand copies.

Wise Man’s Grandchild manga series is proven to be much more active in sales than its light novel series. The manga series has decent sales which is a blessing for the franchise.

Wise Man’s Grandchild Game

Wise Man’s Grandchild mobile game was released in 2020. It wasn’t well-received and performed poorly. According to Sensor Tower, it made around 10K USD in April 2021. This is a below-average turnaround as anime games easily make 100K every month.

Other than these sources, Wise Man’s Grandchild also makes a profit from the international license for Crunchyroll, streaming on Crunchyroll, Funimation, and other platforms, collaboration with advertisers, and other collaborations. But that sales are also far than satisfactory.

The novel series is definitely not performing well. The franchise is not making any profit as it seems. There is definitely a problem as far as the money factor is concerned.

3) Buzz and hype for Wise Man’s Grandchild Season 2

In deciding the future of an anime series, the most important is to have a look at its buzz and hype. In most cases, sequels are less popular than the first season. There are occasions when there is no buzz or hype for another season. This generally happens when the first season turns out unendurable.

We analyze various sources such as the official website, social media, and Google trends to predict the fate of the franchise. Coming to Wise Man’s Grandchild, though the novel series isn’t performing as expected, fans are waiting for its second season. The same is the case with Goblin Slayer and we will get Goblin Slayer Season 2 very soon.

Though the buzz is not as huge as anime like Overlord, it is decent enough to motivate creators to go ahead and continue the anime. We witnessed a good demand for season 2 when the last episode of season 1 premiered in 2019.

Will There Be Wise Man’s Grandchild Season 2?

Considering, all the above factors, I can say that the chances of getting Wiseman’s Grandchild season 2 are not looking very bright at the moment. The novel series is not performing well. The novel series has also concluded. So, the main motive of promoting the source material is not there.

However, the fans are excited about the second season. The first season received superb reviews, and the numbers are good enough to drive makers to go ahead with its sequel. On MyAnimeList, ‘Wise Man’s Grandchild’ scored 6.62/10 based on 331393 users.

If the mobile game had performed well then the chances of getting a sequel would have improved. As the first season failed to make a profit, we don’t think that we will ever get Wise Man’s Grandchild Season 2. Even if the second season arrives, it will take time. Don’t expect it to arrive before 2025.
