This comedic, psychological romance anime is based on a light novel of the same name that was first published in 2014. The Bunny Girl Senpai light novel series is written by Hajime Kamoshida and illustrated by Keiji Mizoguchi. An anime movie which is a direct sequel to the anime was released in June 2019.

Bunny Girl Senpai Story and what will happen in Season 2?
Sakuta Azusagawa is the main character of this anime series. The selfless teenager is determined to help Mai Sakurajima, a teen actress, and other people suffering from “Adolescence Syndrome.”
Teenagers display abnormal characteristics because of the phenomenon. Among those factors are being invisible, acquiring physical injuries due to hurtful words received, and many more.
Sakuta encountered the young actress Mai in a library dressed as a bunny. When Sakuta realized no one else had seen Mai but only him, he was confused. When she dresses normally in order to escape her celebrity life, Mai’s “adolescence syndrome” makes her invisible.
Her surroundings also appear to forget about her presence whenever she does so. Sakuta’s younger sister, Kaede, is also suffering from “adolescent syndrome”. Kaede gets injured after receiving death threats and bullying online.
Her traumatic experiences eventually led to dissociative amnesia. In order to understand the phenomenon, Sakuta sets out to investigate. As he travels, he meets other girls with Adolescence Syndrome as well as gets into a closer relationship with Mai.
A happy ending capped off the first season. Having finally been released from the hospital, Kaede decides to go back to school. She now knows she is not alone. In the meantime, Sakuta and Mai grow closer.
A sequel movie
Directly following the original series, the sequel movie released in 2019 introduced Shoko. She was Sakuta’s first crush. Later on in their timeline, we learned that Shoko had two separate timelines.
This second version exists only due to Sakuta’s impending death in a car accident. Sakuta has promised to donate his heart to Shoko so she can live.
In the movie, characters go back in time to try and correct mistakes they have made. The result is multiple alternate timelines. By saving Sakuta, Mai and Sakuta didn’t have to let Shoko die.
There is another time jump in the movie near the end. As it turns out, Sakuta and Mai are stumbled upon by Shoko, who has grown up to be a fourth-grader. Shoko and Sakuta ended up recognizing each other.
If the show gets renewed for s second season, the story will continue where the movie ends. It will start with the 8th volume of the light novel series titled ‘Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister on an Outing.’
