According to the official website of the show, the Gojo’s Past arc is scheduled to span five episodes, followed by a movie recap on August 10 and a season one recap on August 17. After a brief one-week break on August 24, the Shibuya Incident arc will sweep us into a captivating storyline, taking us beyond the prequel territory starting August 31.

What will be the story of Season 2?

The dark fantasy anime is based on the manga of the same name by Gege Akutami. To date, 23 volumes of the manga series have been published. The author published the latest volume on July 4, 2023.

The anime follows a world beyond with several supernatural aspects and cursed spirits. Season 1 follows Yuji Itadori’s first mission after his Grandfather’s passing. He investigates the curse in Miami’s old school, where students have unsealed a rotting finger. The lack of Yuji’s powers doesn’t allow him to fight against evil. Yuji ultimately consumes that finger, the thing that attracted Bane, to save Miami and others. After that, a terrific adventure follows.

The first season ended with the conclusion of the Death Painting Arc, which covers chapters 55-64 in the manga across seven volumes. The second season is currently adapting Gojo’s Past Arc (Hidden Inventory/Premature Death), which covers chapters 65-79 in the manga. This part covers Gojo’s past, specifically a mission involving Gojo and Geto escorting a Star Plasma Vessel to Tengen.

Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 will also jump back to the present day to adapt the Shibuya Incident (chapters 79-136). The Shibuya Incident Arc revolves around a plan to seal away Goto, spearheaded by Gojo and his new cursed alliance.

As per the official synopsis, “Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 will depict the story of Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto’s days as Jujutsu Tech students in the ‘Hidden Inventory, Premature Death’ arcs. The story of how Gojo and Geto parted ways, which was hinted at in the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie, will finally be revealed. Additionally, ‘Shibuya Incident’ an arc that continues directly from Season 1, will follow after ‘Hidden Inventory, Premature Death’ in two consecutive cours.”

The Jujutsu Kaisen fans already know how intense fighting sequences this arc covers. The group of sorcerers will battle hard against the curses and other evil spirits. Also, Gojo will follow them on this top-secret mission.

How many episodes will be there in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2?

According to Myanimelist.com, the second season of the popular anime is going to have 23 episodes.

Do I need to watch the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie before season 2?

We highly recommend watching the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie, especially since it serves as a prequel to the main series and will provide crucial insights into the events of season 2.

The movie delves into the journey of Yuta Okkotsu, a skilled swordsman, who will play a more significant role in the ongoing Jujutsu Kaisen anime.

Additionally, make sure not to miss the post-credits scene, as it sets the stage for future events in the anime, involving Yuta’s return to Japan and his connection to the main series.

While it is understandable that time constraints may be a factor, we strongly encourage you to find the time to watch this movie. However, if it’s not possible to do so, fret not, as a recap will be available from August 10 for those who wish to catch up or refresh their memory.
