Along with the announcement, a teaser visual drawn by Sei Kubota was also released, who was in charge of character design in the first and second seasons. Saitama and Garou are depicted standing back to back.

How many volumes of One Punch Man Manga have been released?

A total of 29 manga volumes of One Punch Man have been released so far. The latest volume 29 was released on Nov 2, 2023. The first season of One Punch Man anime that aired in 2015 adapted the first eight volumes. The second season utilized volumes 9-16 of the manga series. So, on average, one season of One Punch Man requires around 8 manga volumes. The next season of the anime will adapt the manga from Volume 17.

One Punch Man Season 3 Release Date

The series made its anime debut in 2015. The first season was produced by studio Madhouse. The second season was created by studio J.C. Staff and released in 2019. The anime again changed studios for its third season, and this time it’s MAPPA. However, even after almost five years of waiting, fans still have no clue when the new season will drop.

As of Feb 24, 2024, there is no official update on One Punch Man Season 3. However, fans can take a sigh of relief, as there’s a good chance that the show could be back this year.

The plot of One Punch Man revolves around Saitama, a superhero who hails from City Z. He is portrayed as the most powerful superhero as he can defeat his opponents with a single punch. He gets bored of this one-punch game and now is on an active lookout for a challenge that he truly deserves. His sense of boredom overpowers every emotion.

Two associations are set in opposition to each other in One-Punch Man – The Hero Association and The Monster Association who are embroiled in constant feats of the fight, rescue, and survival events. Saitama initially not associated with The Hero Association is later admitted into the lower ranks.

One Punch Man‘s first two seasons covered the first 85 chapters, or 16 volumes, of the original manga. the upcoming season would pick up from chapter 86, delving even further into the Monster Association arc.

Without revealing too many details, the significant occurrences in this arc encompass a large-scale invasion of the Hero Association, the enlistment of virtually all S-Rank Heroes, and the rise of Garou as a legendary villain.
