Demon Slayer Season 5 Latest Update: Ufotable To Ditch Episodic Form!

Demon Slayer Season 5: The Final Battle will have 69 Manga chapters to cover. Here’s everything you need to know!

Since its debut in 2019, the anime series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba has captured the hearts of millions of viewers worldwide. The series has become a cultural phenomenon with its stunning animation, compelling storyline, and memorable characters.

After the grand finale of Demon Slayer season 3, Ufotable revealed that the Hashira Training Arc would be the next anime adaptation to air. While fans are ecstatic about season 4, they are already looking forward to season 5, which is not even renewed.

Not only that, but a word is also floating around that, instead of a fifth season, Demon Slayer has some different ideas. So, what could that be? Will it premiere soon? Or is this just a rumor? Want to find out? Continue reading.

Demon Slayer Season 5 Latest Updates

Ufotable, the animation studio that created the Demon Slayer anime, has not formally announced the release date of Demon Slayer season 5. The company has only made an official announcement about Demon Slayer Hashira Training Arc, or season 4 of the anime, which will be released in spring 2024. Furthermore, a recent leak revealed that several films will take the place of Demon Slayer Season 5 to complete The Infinity Castle arc and The Sunrise Countdown Arc.

Ufotable might adopt a different strategy and stop putting out new episodes every week. Therefore, they could choose to do a series of films, which would be something new in the anime industry since no other series has ever included five films in a row.  It is therefore assumed that there won’t be a fifth season, and if one does, it will debut following the release of one or two films.

What to expect from Demon Slayer Season 5?

According to a reliable source in the anime news circuit, Ufotable, the acclaimed studio, might decide to release a film or two before Season 5. This choice results from the epic scope of the last storyline, appropriately named “The Final Battle.” This storyline, which includes “The Infinity Castle” and “The Sunrise Countdown,” is the longest of all time at 69 chapters.

The anime will require 20–24 episodes if it produces episodes as it usually does. Hence, a movie called “Infinity Castle” is to be made, and Season 5 of the show in standard episodic form may then be released. Alternatively, the studio may decide to produce multiple films, though this is not confirmed.

Where to watch Demon Slayer?

The first three seasons of Demon Slayer are available to stream on Crunchyroll. The fourth season will also premiere on the anime streaming website. In certain regions, the first three seasons of Demon Slayer are also available on Netflix (including United States).
