Fire Force is an animated adaptation of the same-named manga that has captivated audiences around the world with its unique plot and stunning visuals. The story revolves around a world where people can transform into vicious monsters called Infernals of their own volition.

The Fire Force is a unique firefighting organization that was created to combat these Infernals and investigate their origins. Following two successful seasons, fans are eager to see what season 3 of Fire Force has in store. Although Fire Force season 3 was first revealed on May 16, 2022, fans were displeased with the prolonged wait for updates.

However, the wait is now over. Yes, you read it right. Season 3 of Fire Force is coming. So, when will it premiere? What will it be about? Curious to find out? Keep reading.

Fire Force Season 3 Release Date

Fire Force Season 3 was officially confirmed on May 16, 2022. The tweet featured an image of the sharp-toothed teen Shinra Kusakabe posing after one of his attacks. Unfortunately, that was all the reveal included; no release date for Season 3 was provided.

Almost a year later, the show’s Japanese Twitter account confirmed that season three was finally “in production”, but the release date wasn’t announced.

Although the third season of Fire Force does not yet have an official release date, we anticipate it to arrive in late 2024.

Well, the release of the third season may get delayed as David Production, which animated the first two seasons, has been replaced by Studio Shaft.

Even there are speculations that the upcoming season might come out on the original manga’s tenth anniversary which falls in September 2025, so fans would likely hope this isn’t true.

Fire Force Season 3 Plot

Fire Force season 3 could wrap up the ‘Stigma’ arc from season 2 before beginning the ‘Obi’s Rescue’ arc, which involves Company 8 bringing Captain Obi out of jail. Season 3 has a starting point before heading into new territory since Season 2 left certain things unresolved. Sort of new, actually; this is where the manga’s plot will serve as a guide.

It begins to make sense why there has been such a long break since the majority of the source material was already used in the first two seasons of Fire Force. Although there is still more to adapt, this season may be the last since the manga ended in 2022. But it all depends on how the recently released anime episodes are structured.

The official synopsis for Fire Force reads:

“Year 198 of the Solar Era in Tokyo, special fire brigades are fighting against a phenomenon called spontaneous human combustion where humans beings are turned into living infernos called “Infernals”. While the Infernals are first generation cases of spontaneous human combustion, later generations possess the ability to manipulate flames while retaining human form.

Shinra Kusakabe, a youth who gained the nickname Devil’s Footprints for his ability to ignite his feet at will, joins the Special Fire Force Company 8 which composes of other flames users as they work to extinguish any Infernals they encounter. As a faction that is creating Infernals appears, Shira begins to uncover the truth behind a mysterious fire that caused the death of his family twelve years ago.”
