Demon Slayer Season 3 Episode 2 Recap

In Episode 2 titled ‘Yoriichi Type Zero,’ Tanjirou meets a young boy named Kotetsu, who is the caretaker of a 300 years old mechanical doll called Yoriichi Type Zero. Mist Hashira is desperate to train with the mysterious mechanical doll. When Muichiro accidentally damages it, Tanjiro decides to help Kotetsu. They find that the doll is still functional, and Kotetsu encourages him to train with it to become stronger than Muichiro.

Under Kotetsu’s strict supervision, Tanjiro undergoes intense training. His determination paid off as he gained the ability to predict the doll’s movements, sharpening his stamina and foresight.

During a fighting session, Tanjiro hits a decisive blow on the doll’s neck but backs out at the last moment to prevent the breaking of the precious antique. Kotetsu comforts him that it can be fixed and urges him to follow through with the strike. Tanjiro decapitated the doll, but in the process, he breaks his training sword.

In the final moments of the episode, Tanjiro and Kotetsu are surprised to find a sword’s handle emerging from the doll’s body where its head used to be. This comes as a big mystery and will be answered in the episodes to come.
