Sajid Nadiadwala locks a 5 film deal with Amazon Prime Video. Acquire digital streaming rights of Heropanti 2, Bachchan Pandey and Kick 2 for more than Rs 250 crores.

With theatres finally open in Maharashtra, several Bollywood movies are lined up for release on big screens. This Diwali promises to be a big one for cine-goers as Akshay Kumar’s Sooryavanshi is finally making it to the theatres. After Sooryvanshi, many big-budget movies will release in theatres in the next six months. Apart from the theatrical release, the fans are equally excited for the digital release of the upcoming Bollywood movies. This is the reason, the producers are signing big deals with streaming platforms for their upcoming projects.

As per the latest report, NGE has signed a Rs 250 crore deal with Amazon Prime Video for five upcoming titles, including Akshay Kumar’s Bachchan Pandey, Salman Khan’s Kick 2, Tiger Shroff’s Heropanti 2, Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali and Satyanarayan Ki Katha.

As per a Bollywood Hungama report, a source close to the production told, “In the lockdown, Sajid Nadiadwala was in conversation with several OTT giants to ink a multi-film deal for his slate of releases and he found his partner in Amazon Prime Video. He has inked a mega-deal upside of Rs. 250 crores for five of his upcoming films – Bachchan Pandey, Heropanti 2, Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali, Satyanarayan Ki Kathaand Kick 2,”

This is a flexible deal as the window period between OTT and theatrical release is not zeroed yet. While Kick 2 is still in the scripting stage, the two parties have included it in the deal.

The source said, “Sajid is very keen to make Kick 2 with Salman and has been working on the script for a while now. He is sure that the film will be made and hence, included it in the contract. Of the entire slate, he has fetched the maximum amount for Kick 2.”

Apart from these 5 movies, Nadiadwala’s next, Tadap, will also premiere on Amazon Prime Video. It will release on the streaming service 4 weeks after its theatrical release on Dec 3, 2021.
