Amazon Prime Video is home to several YRF blockbusters like Darr, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Silsila, Chandni, Dil To Pagal Hai, Thugs of Hindostan, War, Mardaani, and others. This partnership is going to get stronger in the coming years as Prime Video is going to be the home of the upcoming YRF movies. A few days back we reported that Prime Video has acquired the digital streaming rights of YRF’s most anticipated upcoming movies including Bunty Aur Babli 2, Prithviraj, Jayeshbhai Jordaar, and Shamshera. As per the deal, these movies will digitally premiere on the service after 4 weeks of theatrical release.
While the above-mentioned movies have been made official, Amazon has reportedly grasped the streaming rights of two more YRF biggies. According to reports, Salman Khan starrer Tiger 3 and SRK’s Pathan will be available to stream on Prime Video after 8-weeks of theatrical release.
According to reports, Amazon has paid a hefty Rs 200 crores to lock the deal. Pathan and Tiger 3 are the most-awaited movies of the next year. Both movies are currently in production.
Tiger 3 is the third movie of the Tiger franchise. The previous two movies were huge hits at the box office. Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif will reprise their roles as RAW and ISI agents respectively. The spy thriller also stars Emraan Hashmi as the lead villain. YRF hasn’t announced the theatrical release date. However, we are expecting it to release during Eid weekend.
Talking about Pathan, Siddharth Anand’s directional will mark SRK’s return on the big screen after around three years. The action thriller also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in prominent roles. Salman Khan plays an extended cameo in the movie. Though the theatrical release date hasn’t been announced, we expect Pathan to release around Diwali.
