Farzi Season 2: Is it Happening?
Soon after the release of the first season, Shahid stated in an interview that there would be a sequel to Farzi, but it would take some time to be released. Additionally, he mentioned that a show’s sequel typically takes two to three years to release.
In a recent interaction with Pinkvilla, he confirmed that the season will happen. He shared that the first season got a tremendous response from the audience and the makers have left the story in a very open-ended way so there is an opportunity for a lot more to happen and it was not the end.
When will Farzi Season 2 premiere on Prime Video?
While talking about the future of the series, Shahid said, “Farzi season 2, I am sure it will happen but these things take time. Series will take one to two years for post-production alone.”
Shahid is a busy star and has several movies in his pipeline. So, we aren’t expecting Farzi Season 2 to premiere soon. Once the production begins, the second two will take around 12 to 15 months to release. So, we expect Farzi Season 2 to premiere on Amazon Prime Video in 2025 or perhaps later.
Farzi Season 2: What will it be about?
The official synopsis for Farzi reads:
“Sunny, a brilliant small-time artist is catapulted into the high-stakes world of counterfeiting when he creates the perfect fake currency note, even as Michael, a fiery, unorthodox task force officer wants to rid the country of the counterfeiting menace. In this thrilling cat-and-mouse race, losing is not an option!”
The show revolves around Sunny, an artist in India after he fails to keep his grandfather’s revolutionary printing press in business. Disappointed by the income inequality in India. he decides to team up with his best friend Firoz to make counterfeit money.
However, their schemes naturally fail, and they encounter difficulties from criminals like Mansoor in addition to police officers like Michael. The series shares continuity with Raj & DK’s spy series The Family Man whose third season is expected to premiere in 2024.
In the last episode of the first season, Mansoor sets fire to Madhav’s printing press, seemingly killing him. Angered, Sunny goes on a rampage — he kills many of Mansoor’s men and sets fire to the cash, promising Mansoor that he will be back for more.
Season 2 will therefore pick up where the first season left off and shed additional light on the character and life of Sunny.
