Tulsa King debuted on November 13, 2022, and centers around a Mafia capo recently released from jail and dispatched to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to establish a criminal organization.

The premiere episode that aired on Paramount Network on November 20, 2022, had 3.7 million viewers, “making it the best new linear cable premiere of 2022. Within a few weeks of its premiere, Tulsa King amassed a huge fan following, and its popularity skyrocketed. The record-breaking debut prompted Paramount+ to renew the show.

We already know that a second season is on the way, but we don’t yet know the exact release date or what to anticipate from the new episodes. If you are like us and are wondering the same, you have come to the right place. Here’s everything you need to know about Tulsa King Season 2!

Paramount+ renews Tulsa King for season two

Tulsa King was renewed for a second season on Nov 30, 2022. Seeing the exceptional response to the opening episodes, Paramount+ was quick to renew the show.

Tulsa King was well promoted by Paramount. Its placement directly after Yellowstone was a wise choice, as it benefited from the large audience for the Western series, drawing in 3.7 million viewers and claiming the record of the highest-rated series launch across all linear networks.

What’s the update on production?

Martin Starr, who plays Bodhi, told Collider in February 2023 that a start date hasn’t been set for production on Tulsa King Season 2. “I think they’re working out so many details,” Starr said.

Shortly after, a change in leadership behind the camera was announced, with Terence Winter stepping down as showrunner due to “creative differences, ” per Deadline. He will remain an executive producer on the series.

While Season 2 will be set in its titular city, it looks like filming will take place in a different state altogether. While Season 1 was shot in Tulsa and Oklahoma City, The Oklahoman reported in 2023 that after the show was renewed, production did not resubmit its application to the Oklahoma Film & Music Office for the state film incentive.

Latest update on production

The most recent word about the second season of Tulsa King suggests that fans might have to wait even longer for its release, primarily due to the Hollywood strikes. Although the strikes have been resolved, there haven’t been any updates on the upcoming season yet. Stallone has personally acknowledged the impact on their show, stating that the strike significantly hindered progress, especially for projects like Tulsa King. The extent to which the SAG/AFTRA strikes affected the series remains unclear.

When is Tulsa King Season 2 release date?

The first season of Tulsa King has 9 episodes. The season 1 finale landed on Paramount+ on Jan 8, 2023. Season 2 will air on Paramount+, although a release date has not yet been confirmed. The production has faced a number of delays. First, the departure of executive producer Terence Winter means the search for a new showrunner.

Even though Hollywood strikes have ended, there have been no updates on production. However, we expect the filming to start soon, most probably by March 2024, as was the case with the debut season.

Though there is no official update, we can expect Tula King Season 2 to premiere in late 2024, most likely in November 2024. So, stay tuned for more updates.

What will be the plot of Tulsa King Season 2?

The first season finale had several twists and turns. The major headlines of the first season finale were the death of biker gang leader Caolan Waltrip and the reveal that ATF agent Stacy Beale survived the gunshot wound she sustained last episode.

However, the biggest development of the season came in the last few minutes. At the episode’s end, Stacy gets Dwight (Sylvester Stallone) arrested for bribing a federal agent. He is put in handcuffs and driven off with Phil Collins playing him off.

After a cliffhanger ending, one thing is sure, the General will be out of jail sooner or later. He is arrested for bribing a federal agent. This may be his bigger plan to get most of the Invernizzi family. Well, it is difficult to predict the plot of these thrillers. We should wait for more developments.

There is also a good chance that Tulsa King will follow in Yellowstone‘s footsteps and end up launching a whole slate of interconnected spinoffs based either around the Oklahoma setting or the Invernizzi criminal empire.

“The huge success we’ve had with Tulsa King and Sylvester Stallone opens up possibilities with Taylor Sheridan, who consistently, his mind works in terms of universes and backstories, so I think there’s always a possibility that there’s more to that universe and more to that story,” said Paramount’s Tanya Giles.

Who is in the cast of Tulsa King Season 2?

The lead cast members who survived the first season will be back for the second season. Sylvester Stallone will definitely be back as Dwight “The General” Manfredi. We also expect Andrea Savage (Stacy Beale) to make it to the second season. Here’s a look at the complete star cast:
