When is Abbott Elementary Season 3 Release Date?
In January 2023, ABC decided to renew Abbott Elementary for a third season. Four months later, production and writing were supposed to start, but plans were delayed due to the WGA and SAG strikes. But at last, the wait is over.
ABC will premiere Abbott Elementary Season 3 on Wednesday, February 7 at 9:00 p.m. EST. So, get ready as your favorite teachers will be back once the school reopens.
New episodes will air Wednesdays on ABC, and stream on Hulu the next day. There are a total of 14 episodes in the third season. Season 3 will premiere on February 7, 2024, with a two-episode premiere.
What will be the plot of Abbott Elementary Season 3?
Since its 2021 debut, the show, which focuses on the personal and professional lives of the teachers at a poorly funded elementary school in Philadelphia, has captured the hearts of viewers and garnered millions of views across networks. Regarding the third season, there are currently no publicly available details regarding the plot.
Season Two concluded on April 19, 2023, with Brunson and Williams’s characters, Jeanine and Gregory, finally addressing their feelings for each other.
“They’re not on the same page exactly,” co-showrunner Patrick Schumacker told Decider, “but Gregory’s accepted reluctantly what the determination was at the end, and I think that’s gonna keep up some of the dramatic tension in Season Three.”
Abbott Elementary‘s other showrunner, Justin Halpern, told Decider that a more extensive theme for Season Three has been decided. “The second season ended up talking about charter schools and the push and pull of those, and the first season was sort of about the challenges of being woefully underfunded,” he said. “And so I think we have an idea, we’ve talked with Quinta, and I think there’s a larger overarching idea that we’ve sort of landed on for Season Three that I think is really interesting and I’ve never seen it on TV before.”
