“I would Love to be the Brand Ambassador of Incredible India”- said Akshay Kumar
Actor Akshay Kumar, who is also known as Khiladi Kumar of the Film Industry says “I would love to be the ambassador of tourism ministry’s Incredible India initiative – It is a good thing to promote tourism in India.”
Bollywood Superstar ‘Aamir Khan‘ is no longer associated with the government campaign as his contract was recently ended. Since then there have been many names who would replace him. Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra and Akshay are among the top names to join the race to be the face of the campaign.
In an interview when Akshay was asked whether he would like to be the new Incredible India ambassador, he said “It’s a big thing. Why not? I would love to be there. It’s a good thing”.
Lately, Akshay is working on his forthcoming film “Airlift” which is scheduled to release this Friday. Airlift is based on the evacuation of Kuwait-based Indians during the Iraqi evacuation in 1990. Akshay plays the role of Ranjit Katyal who is an unsung hero in aiding the evacuation process. This is based on a real life story and also stars Nimrat Kaur of ‘The Lunchbox‘ fame.
“India is the greatest country – that is what we want to show in this film. ‘Airlift’ means air evacuation. The film shows how 1,70,000 people were evacuated from one place to other,” Akshay said in a recent interview.
