Sex Education season 3 filming status
It is official that another season is coming. Netflix confirmed the news in Feb 2020. According to Deadline, Sex Education Season 3 filming was about to commence in March 2020. However, like other TV shows, web series, and movies, the third season of Sex Education suffered a delay in filming due to lockdown.
Sex Education is a show that requires a large degree of close contact and intimacy. So, the production of the show was looking very unlikely during the pandemic. However, the production started in September after a filming bubble was set up in the shooting location in Wales. On 9th September 2020, Netflix announced that Sex Education season 2 is now officially in production.

Series star Asa Butterfield in an interview with Deadline pointed out that due to the high number of sex scenes in the show, the pandemic could cause more of an issue for Sex Education than other shows.
He said, “It’s quite hard to keep the two-meter distance when you’re kissing someone or doing anything else. I’m sure that’s something they have realized. As well as that, when you’re on a set making film and TV, there are so many parts to this machine. It will make it incredibly difficult to enforce a rule around quarantine, but you have to because this virus is going to be around for ages. Luckily that’s not my job to figure those things out.”
Sex Education Season 3: Plot & Trailer
Just after a month after season 2 premiere, Netflix released Season 3 teaser on February 10th, 2020 and fans are waiting for it to drop in 2020 itself but it seems impossible considering the production is not complete yet. The trailer of season 3 is also not out.
Sex Education season 3 plot will dig deeper into the lives of characters. Like the previous two seasons, this third season will most probably have eight episodes as well. We are still waiting for the confirmation and trailer to find out more about the plot and characters. But we are sure the plot is going to be interesting this time too.
Season 3 will solve many mysteries that were unresolved in the previous season. It is being reported that Season 3 would deal with broken relationships.
Sex Education Season 3 Release Date
Based on the release dates of the two previous seasons, we were expecting the third season to arrive in January 2021. However, with production being delayed for more than four months, it remains to be seen when the drama will arrive on Netflix.
The show reportedly requires 10 weeks for filming. Though the production has started, the post-production and other activities will take time. So, fans should keep patience as it is unlikely that Season 3 would premiere in Jan 2021. Our best bet would be the second quarter of 2021.
