Akshay Kumar’s Bell Bottom was the first Bollywood movie to release worldwide on big screens post the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in India. Released on Aug 19, 2021, the spy-thriller had a limited screening as some states have not yet reopened cinema halls. Directed by Ranjit Tiwari, the movie garnered positive reviews. However, it failed to make much impact at the box office. Akshay Kumar’s fans have been waiting for Bell Bottom’s digital release.

Now, to make the movie available to a wider audience, the makers have decided to release it digitally. The makers have announced the digital release date. Akshay Kumar on Sunday took to his social media accounts to announce Bell Bottom digital release date. The movie will release on September 16 on Amazon Prime Video. It’s Sep 16, 2021, and the movie is now available on Prime Video. You can enjoy the spy-thriller in the comfort of your home.

What Bell Bottom is about?
Bell Bottom is inspired by true events and based on real-life hijacking events in India by Khalistani separatists during the 1980s, such as the Indian Airlines Flight 423, 405 and 421 hijackings.
Akshay Kumar portrays the role of undercover agent Bell Bottom. The movie also stars Vaani Kapoor, Huma Qureshi and Lara Dutta. Lara essays the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, who was in power at that time. Vaani plays Akshay’s wife in the movie.
Amazon Prime Video is becoming a home of big Bollywood releases. Siddharth Malhotra’s Shershaah released last month emerged as a huge blockbuster. Next month, Vicky Kaushal’s Sardar Udham Singh will make its digital premiere on the platform.
