Theatrical Release Update: Radhe, 83, Laxmmi Bomb, Coolie No 1 & more

Latest updates on the release of Salman Khan’s Radhe, Ranveer Singh starrer 83, Akshay Kumar’s Laxxmi Bomb among other Bollywood movies.

The entertainment industry is going through a tough phase as film releases across the world have been stalled due to coronavirus outbreak. Coming to Bollywood, many movies slated for release in the last two months had to change the release dates. While producers are waiting for the lockdown to get lifted, Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the latest updates on big releases.

Commenting on Ranveer Singh’s 83, Taran wrote on Twitter, “#83TheFilm, starring #RanveerSingh: Filming complete… Editing and dubbing complete… Final mix pending… Minimal post-production work remains to be completed.”

Directed by Kabir Khan, 83 is based on India’s famous cricket world cup victory in England in 1983. 83 was scheduled to release on April 10. The new release date is yet to be announced.

Salman Khan starrer ‘Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai’ was scheduled to release on Eid. As per Taran Adarsh, the film is not yet completed. He tweeted, ‘#Radhe, starring #SalmanKhan and #DishaPatani: The film is not complete yet… Filming of two songs and some sequences pending… Dubbing, VFX, post-production work pending too.”

There were reports that the makers may release the film directly on OTT platform and are hunting for a big deal. Well, it looks tough as the film is not complete. The release date would be pushed further.

Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani starrer Eid release Laxxmi Bomb has some post-production pending. Taran Adarsh wrote, “#LaxmmiBomb, starring #AkshayKumar and #KiaraAdvani: Filming complete… Rough edit complete… Balance post-production work [dubbing, background score, VFX etc] pending.”

There were reports that Laxxmi Bomb might get a digital release but there is no official announcement on the same.

Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan starrer Coolie No 1 was scheduled to release on May 1. With some heavy amount of work still left, the film would get a new release date. Taran Adarsh wrote, “#CoolieNo1, starring #VarunDhawan and #SaraAliKhan: Filming complete… Editing and dubbing complete… VFX almost complete… Post-production work [mixing, DI] pending.”

Shoojit Sircar’s Gulabo Sitabo is complete and all ready for theatrical release. Taran Adarsh posted on Twitter, “#GulaboSitabo, starring #AmitabhBachchan and #AyushmannKhurrana: Entire shoot and post-production complete… First copy out.”

Most of the films scheduled for release in May, June and July are not complete yet. All these films would see a change in release date. Akshay Kumar’s Sooryavanshi is all set for a theatrical release. The makers are waiting for the lockdown to get lifted. They are looking for a big festive release.
