The Professionals Plot
The tale’s protagonist is top-tier security agent Vincent Corbo, who Affluent customers hire to protect their interests using whatever necessary means, whether or not those tactics are permitted by law. After a next-generation medical data satellite’s launch disaster, wealthy rocket inventor Peter Swann hires Corbo to look into possible sabotage.
The medical visionary Dr Grace Davila, Corbo’s former girlfriend who is now Swann’s fiancée and is in a race against time to avert a global catastrophe, complicates Corbo’s new position. When Corbo and his experienced security team look into the rocket accident, they find a nefarious plan by Swann’s business rivals, dishonest government officials, and a mysterious criminal gang to get rid of Swann and take over his technological empire.
In addition to coping with Swann’s spoilt, troublemaking teen daughter, Corbo also has to contend with a renegade Europol agent who is out to catch him for prior transgressions.
