Disney+ Hotstar’s highly anticipated thriller ‘The Great Indian Murder’ premieres today. Here’s what you need to know.

Ace filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia has once again collaborated with OTT giant Disney+ Hotstar. This time the director is coming up with an intense murder mystery drama titled ‘The Great Indian Murder.‘ The show marks Tigmanshu’s third collaboration with Disney+ Hotstar after Criminal Justice and Out of Love.

The show revolves around six suspects in the murder of Vicky Rai, who has been acquitted of killing a bartender in New Delhi. The murder committed by Vicky Rai is similar to the Jessica Lal murder case in which the killer was Manu Sharma. The show reveals the lives and motives of the six suspects.

The Great Indian Murder Release Date and Time

Along with the trailer, Disney+ Hotstar has also announced the release date. The true-crime drama premieres on Disney+ Hotstar on Feb 4, 2022, at 12:00 am. The Great Indian Murder is one of the most anticipated web series’ of the year.

The thriller series is now streaming on the service. The first season has 9 episodes of length between 40 to 50 minutes. It is available in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada audio with subtitles in English.

The Great Indian Murder Cast & Crew

The series stars talented actors like Pratik Gandhi and Richa Chadha in lead roles. Pratik as we know became an overnight sensation after the grand success of Sony Liv’s web series Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story. Richa Chadha is a big name in the Indian OTT space. She has worked in popular web series like Inside Edge and Lahore Confidential.

Besides these two, the show also stars Ashutosh Rana, Himanshi Choudhary, Raghuvir Yadav, Sharib Hashmi, Paoli Dam among others.

The series is backed by Ajay Devgn FFilms and RLE Media Productions. It is based on the Book “Six Suspects” by Vikas Swarup, who previously wrote Q&A, which was later turned into the Oscar-winning movie, Slumdog Millionaire.
