Directed by Omung Kumar, Sarbjit is slated to release on 20 May 2016 i.e this weekend. The movie features Randeep Hooda, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Richa Chadha in the lead roles. Here are 5 Reasons why we can’t wait to watch Sarbjit this weekend-
1. The heart-breaking story
The trailer of Sarbjit gave a glimsse of the heart-wrenching and sad story of Sarabjit Singh, a Punjabi farmer who by mistake crossed the border and was imprisoned and eventually killed in a jail in Pakistan. We can only imagine what plight he suffered in the Pakistani jail. Randeep Hooda brings his character alive in the best way possible. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who plays his sister Dalbir Singh, steals the show in her de-glam avatar. I’m sure the movie will make the audiences teary-eyed.
2. Randeep Hooda’s realistic portrayal
Randeep Hooda has completely immersed himself into the role of Sarabjit Singh. Apart from mastering the Punjabi dialect for the movie, Randeep also shed 18 kilograms over a period of just 20 days and even grew a mustache. I can say for sure that Randeep has done everything he could for showing us what plight Indians suffer in Pakistani jails. The above picture is just a teaser!
3. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the shoes of Dalbir Kaur
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan made a great come-back with Jazbaa. Now, she has gone de-glam for portraying the role of Sarabjit’s sister Dalbir Kaur. She has done a great deal of things to make her portrayal real- from cooking in the Golden Temple to cleaning the utensils. In-fact, Aish also ran bare-feet for a sequence in a lane covered in mud, stones and cow-dung. This was because her footwear broke before the outdoor shot and daylight was fading out. Wow!
4. Music that will make your feel the pain
Salamat, Mera Junoon and Meherbaan are some of the best songs from the album but almost all of the songs of Sarbjit are situational numbers and they composed very appropriately. A set of accomplished singers have given their voices to the songs and they are worth listening.

5. The locales
Since the story of Sarbjit revolves around a man who was captured by Pakistani police when under the influence of alcohol Sarabit Singh crossed the border, it requires shooting to done at some of the most controversial areas of India and Pakistan. Shooting has been done at locations like Attari border, Wagah border and even the Golden Temple in Amritsar.
