Salman Khan Announces Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2; Sequel to be written by SS Rajamouli’s father, K. V. Vijayendra Prasad

Released in 2015, Bajrangi Bhaijaan is one of the best movies of Salman Khan’s career. 

At the pre-release event of RRR on Sunday in Mumbai, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan officially announced Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2. It will be a sequel to his blockbuster movie Barangi Bhaijaan that debuted in 2015. The sequel will be written by SS Rajamouli’s father, K. V. Vijayendra Prasad, who also penned the original movie. On Sunday, Salman Khan attended RRR pre-release event to support SS Rajamouli’s upcoming movie RRR. The fictional action entertainer stars Jr. NTR, Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt, and Ajay Devgn.

While talking to the media, Salman Khan said about how Bajrangi Bhaijaan is one of the best movies of his career. He thanked SS Rajamouli’s father, K. V. Vijayendra Prasad for the same. Karan Johar, who was hosting the event, asked the actor, “So can we say, this is the official announcement of the film?” To which, Salman responded, “Yes, Karan”.

So, it’s official. Bajrangi Bhaijaan is happening. This is great news for Salman fans as Bajrangi Bhaijaan is considered Salman’s best work to date. Helmed by Kabir Khan, the comedy-drama movie follows a Hanuman disciple (Salman Khan) who meets a girl named Munni (Harshaali Malhotra) who resides in Pakistan and accidentally enters India. The heart-touching movie chronicles Salman’s journey to reunite Munni with her family. The movie also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

The movie garnered wide acclaim from critics who praised the storyline, dialogues, music, performances and direction. It became a huge commercial success with a worldwide collection of Rs 969 crore ($150 million).
