CBFC grants U/A certificate to Badrinath Ki Dulhania but under some T&C!

The CBFC or in common terms the Censor Board seems a lot confused about giving a U/A certificate to Badrinath Ki Dulhania. Can you guess why?

Apparently, the name of famous matrimonial site Shaadi.com comes up a number of times in the movie and this is what the Censor Board is worried about. They want the makers to get an NOC (No Objection Certificate) from the website and that’s the condition under which it gave a U/A certificate to Badrinath Ki Dulhania.

According to a source of Bollywood Life, “A recent legal issue, concerning RunningShaadi.com saw the makers dropping the ‘.com’ from their title and from every mention in the film. The Board can’t allow a repeat of the same tamasha post-certification.” This controversy has made the Censor Board when it comes to a brand name or a patented product involved in a movie.

In any such case in future, the Censor Board will simply ask the makers to get an NOC from the owners and problem solved. Badrinath Ki Dulhania is lined up for a release on 10th March and we hope Karan Johar comes up with a solution for this issue before that date.

What are your thoughts about this issue?
