In November 2021, his most awaited action entertainer Sooryavanshi debuted in theatres. With COVID cases again increasing, fans are wondering when will Akshay Kumar’s upcoming movies make it to the theatres.
Well, we don’t know about other movies but the superstar has announced the theatrical release date of his most-awaited action masala entertainer Bachchan Pandey. He tweeted:

So, Bachchan Pandey will finally release in theatres on Mar 18, 2022, after being delayed multiple times due to the pandemic and lockdown.
Now coming to Bachchan Pandey, the movie is directed by Farhad Samji and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. It also stars Kriti Sanon, Jacqueline Fernandez, Arshad Warsi, Pankaj Tripathi, Prateik Babbar and Abhimanyu Singh.
Interesting facts about Bachchan Pandey
Interestingly, Bachchan Pandey was Akshay Kumar’s name in Yash Raj’s 2007 action entertainer ‘Tashan’. Though the movie tanked at the box office, Akshay’s rough and desi look was the highlight of the movie.
While the details about the movie have been kept under wrap, film trade analyst Sumit Kadel tweeted in 2019 that Bachchan Pandey is a remake of Tamil superstar Ajith’s blockbuster movie Veeram. He tweeted, “#BachchanPandey is the official remake of #ThalaAjith BLOCKBUSTER #Veeram.”
There were also rumours that Bachchan Pandey is a remake of Jigarthanda, a 2014 Indian Tamil crime comedy movie written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj. The makers of Bachchan Pandey have denied these rumours.
Bachchan Pandey was earlier scheduled for release on Jan 22, 2021. However, it got delayed due to the pandemic. The filming started on Jan 6, 2021, and wrapped up by the end of 2021.
