Om Raut’s Adipurush is one of the most-anticipated movies of 2022. Starring superstar Prabhas and Saif Ali Khan in led roles, the movie has gone on floors. On Tuesday (Feb 2, 2021) Prabhas on his Instagram account shared a poster of Adipurush with the tagline ‘Celebrating the victory of good over evil’. The poster also mentioned Aarambh which means it started referring here to the filming.

Ever since its announcement, Adipurush has got everyone excited and the audience is eagerly waiting for it to arrive on big screens. A Magnus opus, Adipurush promises something which hasn’t been seen till date in Indian cinema. The movie will be filmed entirely using green mat technology. VFX supervisors of Hollywood’s sci-fi masterpieces Avatar and Star Wars have been roped to work on the VFX of Adipurush.
Adipurush movie plot
Adipurush will be a mythological drama based on the Hindu epic Ramayana. As we all know, Ramayana narrates the life of Ram and follows his fourteen-year exile to the forest with his wife Sita and brother Lakshmana. The kidnapping of Sita by Ravana – the king of Lanka, that resulted in war; and Rama’s eventual return to the home Ayodhya to be crowned king amidst joy and celebration.
While we have read and watched Ramayan several times in various formats, it would be interesting to see how Om Raut and his company bring it with new technology.
Adipurush star cast
Adipurush stars Prabhas in the lead role of Ram. After the grand success of Tanhaji, Om Raut hs once again collaborated with Saif Ali Khan. Known for acing villainous roles, Saif will play the role of Lankesh (Ravana). Bollywood actress is playing the role of Sita. Sunny Singh will star as Lakshman while Angad Bedi will portray Raavan’s son Meghnad.
As per the latest reports, Hema Malini has been roped in to play Ram’s mother Kaushalya in the movie. We will give you more updates on the star cast as soon as some concreted details come out.
Adipurush movie budget
As mentioned above, the entire movie will be filmed using green mat technology. Hollywood’s top VFX specialists are on board to supervise the VFX work for Adipurush. As per the reports coming, makers have allotted a whopping Rs 400 crore budget of the movie. It will be the second most expensive of the Indian cinema only after 2.0 (Rs 500+ crore).
Adipurush release date
The Om Raut directional will hit the big screens on Aug 11, 2022. It will release in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada. While the filming has just started, we can expect more surprises from the makers. Adipurush is a VFX heavy epic movie meant for the global audience. We may see its release in some foreign languages as well.
