Aishwarya Rai Bachchan visits Golden Temple on 12 February 2016 for the shooting of Sarbjit in Amritsar.
Bollywood Beauty Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was spotted at Golden Temple in Amritsar on 12 February where she came for the shooting of her upcoming flick Sarbjit. The Actress is playing the character of Sarbjit’s sister Dalbir Kaur who struggles for decades to get her brother out of the Pakistani Jail. Sarbjit is based on the real-life story of an Indian Prisoner Sarabjit Singh, who was convicted by the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
Aishwarya was seen in a plain gray color Punjabi suit and no doubt she was looking stunning in this simple attire as well. She shot some scenes insides the community kitchen of the Golden Temple where she cooked food, cleaned the floor and utensils.

In an Interview, Dalbir Kaur sister of Sarbjit Singh, said, “I hope the biopic will highlight the plight of Indian prisoners lodged in various jails in Pakistan. I strongly wish that film should depict the hardships faced by Sarbjit Singh during his lifetime especially the time he had spent in the Kotlakhpatrai jail of Lahore in Pakistan where he was killed in a murderous attack by one of the jail mate.”
Dalbir also believes that Aishwarya is the right choice for her role and said, “She is the right choice. I came to know that while shooting a scene for the film earlier, she turned emotional.”
Directed by Omung Kumar, Sarbjit is slated to release on 20 May 2016.
