  • Part 1 will introduce Sheridan’s Sylvester Stallone project The Tulsa King and Part 2 will give way to the second Yellowstone prequel 1932.

So, Yellowstone Universe is expanding and that too at a fast pace. Paramount Network has officially renewed Yellowstone for season 5. Another great news for fans is that the upcoming season will be a super-sized season. So, how many episodes will be there in Yellowstone Season 5? And, when will the new season of Yellowstone premiere? Here’s everything you need to know.

Yellowstone Season 5 will be the longest yet

The first season of Yellowstone featured just nine episodes. The following three seasons had 10 episodes each. The new season will be the longest season yet with 14 episodes. However, all these episodes will not be released in one go. These 14 episodes will be aired in two parts, each consisting of seven episodes.

When will Yellowstone Season 1 Part 1 premiere?

According to The Wall Street Journal,  the first part of season 5 will air in the summer of 2022. According to the Local Montana newspaper, Ravalli Republic, pre-production work to begin in mid to late March, with filming to start on May 15 and run through the middle of August.

So, it is likely that they will air the first part while filming part two of the season. Well, this is something we haven’t seen with Yellowstone’s past filming and broadcast schedules.

Yellowstone universe is expanding at a quick pace

The Paramount Network has decided to expand the Yellowstone Universe and that too at a quick pace. The network is keen to capitalize on the success of the series while it is popular. We all know Yellowstone is a hugely popular show in the United States with millions of fans. The plan is to increase the subscriber base for Paramount+ and compete with streaming giants like Netflix and Hulu.

Paramount Network is introducing two of Taylor Sheridan’s new series and connecting them to Yellowstone season 5.

“We want to double down on that momentum and not waste it,” Chris McCarthy, chief executive of ViacomCBS Media Networks and MTV Entertainment studios said.

However, McCarthy was fast to note that expanding the successful franchise wouldn’t come at the expense of the property’s narrative quality, saying, “We don’t want to damage the franchise.”

Yellowstone Season 5 Part 1 to introduce ‘The Tulsa King’

Yellowstone Part 1 will introduce a new spin-off, a gangster drama, The Tulsa King starring Sylvester Stallone. It is not part of the Yellowstone universe, but it is part of the Sheridan-verse.

As per The AV Club, Stallone will be playing Dwight Manfredi, a New York gangster looking to stake his own claim to Tulsa’s criminal underworld after a 25-year prison stint and being “unceremoniously exiled by his boss.”

Just like 1883 and Mayor of Kingstown, the first two episodes of The Tulsa King will air after Yellowstone on the Paramount Network. Then, the series will move exclusively to Paramount+.

Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2 to introduce a new prequel ‘1932’

Recently, while renewing 1883 for more episodes, Paramount announces another Yellowstone prequel ‘1932′. The series will follow a new generation of Duttons “during the time of western expansion, Prohibition and the Great Depression.”

Along with Yellowstone, 1883, 1932, 6666, and The Tulsa King, Sheridan is also working on Land Man, and the second season of Mayor of Kingston, all for Paramount+.
