With creator Taylor Sheridan’s penchant for Montana as the show’s primary backdrop, the production team requires winter to pass before embarking on location scouting.

Reportedly, Costner will appear in Yellowstone’s final episodes. In the first half of Season 5, John Dutton finds himself embroiled in a power struggle with his son, Jamie Dutton (Wes Bentley), who called for his father’s removal from the position of Montana’s governor. The second part is expected to conclude the storyline.
