Paramount Plus Orders More '1883' Episodes, New Prequel Series '1932'

The second season of “1883” is an addition to Taylor Sheridan’s “Yellowstone” universe.

This is exciting for all Yellowstone fans out there. The Yellowstone universe is expanding with new shows and it just can’t get better than this. Yellowstone prequel 1883 that premiered in Dec 2021 has been renewed for additional episodes at Paramount Plus.

Well, it is hardly a surprise as 1883 has been garnering incredible viewership since its debut in Dec 2021. 1883 follows James and Margaret Dutton as they embark on a journey west through the Great Plains toward Montana to secure a better future.

1883 stars Sam Elliott, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Billy Bob Thornton, Isabel May, LaMonica Garrett, Marc Rissmann, Audie Rick, Eric Nelsen and James Landry Hébert. Premiered on Dec 19, 2021, Yellowstone prequel 1883 will conclude its first season run on Feb 27, 2022.

The ViacomCBS-owned streaming service has ordered another prequel series following the Dutton Family called 1932. The series will follow a new generation of Duttons “during the time of western expansion, Prohibition and the Great Depression.”

Sheridan said he chose the 1930s to “peek back in” on the Duttons, as the children from “1883” are raising families of their own.

Yellowstone universe is expanding

Yellowstone universe is only going to expand from here. With a tremendous fan base backing it, the creators can focus on more spin-offs and prequels. If you aren’t aware, a spin-off title 6666, The Four Sixes is also in the works.

The series will focus on The Four Sixes (6666) which is a large ranch in Texas, located about four hours west of Dallas. It was recently purchased by an investment group led by Taylor Sheridan.

Yellowstone Season 5 is already in production and you can expect it later in 2022. We are expecting the premiere of 1932 and the second season of 1883 in 2023. 6666 should also premiere by the end of this year.

With more than a century to cover, you can expect all three of these shows to continue for at least the next few years given the popularity of the Yellowstone universe.
