Paramount Network’s popular drama Yellowstone will come to an end when the final set of episodes air next year in November. Taylor Sheridan’s popular show has become a phenomenon across the world. The Paramount Network series has spawned several spinoffs, including 1883 and 1923, and that’s not even counting the three series that are planned but have yet to be released.
Coming back to Yellowstone, the fifth and final season is divided into two parts. The first part of the final season finished airing in January 2023 and since then fans have been waiting for the final set of episodes.
After a series of delays, Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2 will finally arrive in November 2024. The bigger question is how it is going to end for Duttons. What will be the plot of Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2?
What happened so far in Yellowstone Season 5?
In the first part of Yellowstone season 5, things got dangerous for the Dutton family. Rip and some other ranch workers went to Texas to protect their cattle at the Four Sixes ranch. Meanwhile, Kayce was put in charge of their ranch. In a surprising turn, Jamie gained an advantage in his rivalry with Beth. He threatened to expose John’s role in several murders. Jamie was prepared for his family’s actions and got assistance from Sarah Atwood. She convinced Jamie to hire skilled individuals who could make any harm to their enemies look like an accident instead of a direct killing.
What will be the Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2 Plot?
The conclusion of the first part of season 5 focused on the clash between John Dutton and Jamie, suggesting that part 2 will likely wrap up that story arc.
The upcoming episodes could center on the assassination plots that were discussed in the previous episode. While Beth suggested John kill Jamie, Sarah and Jamie planned to get Beth murdered. It would be interesting to see if any of the two plans get executed.
John will face the consequences of his decision to oppose the reservation pipeline project in favour of rainwater. We are expecting Kayce to handle the ranch going forward. So, the stage is set for a dramatic end to one of the most loved series of all time.
Paramount unveiled a preview for the next episode; however, it does not give away much about what to expect. It only teased the show’s return in the summer of 2023.
Piper Perabo who plays Summer Higgins stated to TV Insider that even she doesn’t know what will happen when the show returns for more.
Perabo said: “There’s a lot coming. Things are on the move. I can’t wait to get back to the back half just because I want to know what happens. I personally only know what happens up to the midseason finale up to that last second, and I don’t know what happens when we come back.”
She continued: “I think you can tell that things are going really south because [the seventh] episode doesn’t end at the fair; it ends with him practising that speech. And Taylor’s very good – if you’re paying attention, he’s telling you where the trouble’s coming from. I think the fact that he ends with that scene is, for those paying attention, he’s showing you.”
