Thalapathy Vijay’s family entertainer Varisu debuted in theatres on Jan 11, 2023. Despite mixed reviews from critics, the movie managed to make a big impact at the box office. Even after three weeks of its theatrical release, the family action drama movie is making decent money at the box office. The film has grossed around ₹310 Crore at the box office, as of 17 February 2023. Amidst commercial success at the box office, the makers have also announced the OTT release date of the movie. So, here we are with all details related to Varisu OTT release.
Varisu OTT release date and platform: Where to watch?
We have earlier reported that streaming giant Amazon Prime Video has acquired the digital streaming rights of Varisu. The deal was locked way before the theatrical release of the movie. Varisu will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on Feb 22, 2023.

The Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam versions of the movie will be released on Feb 22, 2023. There is no update on when the Hindi dubbed version’s OTT release.
Apart from Amazon Prime Video, the movie will also be released on Simply South (Not in India) and Sun NXT (Not in India) on Feb 22, 2023.

The movie stars Vijay and Rashmika Mandanna, with R. Sarathkumar, Prabhu, Jayasudha, Prakash Raj, Srikanth and Shaam in supporting roles.
Varisu movie plot
Vijay Rajendran, the youngest son of Rajendran Palanisamy, the owner of the biggest mining firm in the nation, is disowned and thrown out of the house as he refused to join the family business, instead deciding to launch a food delivery startup.
Seven years later, Rajendran is diagnosed with advanced-stage pancreatic cancer and has only a few more months to live. He decides to reveal his terminal condition and make one of his two elder sons, Jai or Ajay, the chairman of the company, before his approaching death.
With this in mind, Rajendran plans to celebrate his 65th birthday in a grand manner, with the intention of announcing both matters during the celebration. Vijay is also invited at the behest of his mother Sudha, who still considers him her son.
Vijay returns home after seven years and is shocked to learn that while his family may appear to be united on the outside; there are several internal issues. He stays at home and starts making amends after finding out about his father’s serious illness.
Varisu is Vijay’s fifth movie to gross Rs 200+ Crore globally. The other movies are Bigil, Sarkar, Mersal, Master, and Beast.
