New Movies To Watch This Weekend (17 February 2023): Ant-Man 3, Vaathi, Lost & more!

While Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan dominated the last 20 to 25 days at the box office, it’s time to move ahead now. Time to look at the new releases of this weekend. Hopes are high from Kartik Aaryan’s Shezada but it seems that it will tank at the box office. The other major theatrical release this weekend is Marvel’s Ant-Man and The Wasp Quantumania. Apart from theatrical releases, we will also look at the movies debuting on OTT. Let’s have a look:

Lost

Directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, Lost is an emotional thriller starring Yami Gautam Dhar, Shyamal Sengupta and Ritesh Shah. Inspired by true events, it is the story of a bright young crime reporter in a rigorous search for the truth behind the sudden disappearance of a young theatre activist.

Shehzada

Release Date: Feb 17, 2022

The Hindi remake of the Telugu blockbuster Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo stars Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon. Directed by Rohit Dhawan, the movie is about Bantu, a boorish young man from a middle-class background who realises that he is the biological son of a millionaire industrialist.

Despite massive promotions, Shehzada has failed to create much buzz and the advance booking reports suggest that it will take a poor opening at the box office.

Vaathi

Release Date: Feb 17, 2022

Where to watch: In Cinemas

Vaathi/Sir is a period coming-of-age action drama film written and directed by Venky Atluri. Starring Dhanush and Samyuktha in lead roles, the movie revolves around a third-grade junior lecturer who stands against the institutes, that provide education to children in exchange for business profits.

Ant-Man and The Wasp Quantumania

Release Date: Feb 17, 2022

Where to watch: In Cinemas

The biggest release of the week is Marvel’s Ant-Man and The Wasp Quantumania. The third movie in the Ant-Man series and the 31st MCU movie see Lang and Van Dyne transported to the Quantum Realm along with their family and face Kang the Conqueror (Majors).

Release Date: February 17, 2023

Where to watch: Netflix

Unlocked is a South Korean thriller directed by Kim Tae-Joon in his directorial debut. The plot revolves around an everyday office worker who loses her smartphone, which has all her personal information and begins to face threats in her daily life.

Sadha Nannu Nadipe

Release Date: February 16, 2023

Where to watch: Disney+ Hotstar

Sadha Nannu Nadipe is a Telugu romantic drama movie about a pretty girl who’s about to pass away and soon falls for a small-time thief, he struggles to come to terms with it. The film stars Lanka Pratheek Prem Karan and Vaishnavi Patwardhan in the lead roles while Nagendra Babu and Ali play supporting roles.

Cirkus

Release Date: February 17, 2023

This Rohit Shetty comedy revolves around two sets of identical twins who are accidentally separated at birth. Several years later, when they are coincidentally in the same town, there is a lot of confusion and misunderstanding when people mistake them for each other.
