Thalapathy Vijay’s action-thriller movie Leo debuted in theatres on October 19, 2023. The third movie in the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU) received mixed reviews. Inspired by A History of Violence, the movie follows Parthi, a café owner and animal rescuer in Theog, who is pursued by gangsters Antony and Harold Das who suspect him to be Antony’s estranged son, Leo.
Despite mixed reviews, Leo grossed around Rs 620+ Crore worldwide. It went on to become the highest-grossing Tamil movie of 2023 and the second-highest-grossing Tamil movie of all time after 2.0.

When is Leo 2 release date?
It is too early to predict the Leo 2 release date but it could arrive in 2026 based on the current information we have.
In August 2023, it was reported that Leo would get a sequel. Moreover, the ending of Leo also hints at a potential sequel. Production for the sequel is anticipated to commence in 2025, once Lokesh concludes filming Thalaivar 171, Kaithi 2, and Vikram 2.
While Thalaivar 170 is said to be a standalone film starring Rajinikanth, Kaithi 2 and Vikram 2 are future entries in the Lokesh Cinematic Universe.
The production for Leo started in January 2023 and was released in theatres in October. If the sequel follows the same pattern, Leo 2 is likely to come out in 2026 at the earliest, considering that the filming commences in 2025.
