Leo Box Office Day 1 Advance Booking Report: Biggest Opening Guranteed

The immense popularity of Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay and his second partnership with director Lokesh Kanagaraj in the film “Leo” is vividly evident at the global box office. The advance booking reports suggest that the duo is set to deliver the biggest opening day of the Tamil cinema.

There are numerous compelling aspects to this film, and one that stands out is the reunion of Thalapathy Vijay and director Lokesh Kanagaraj following their successful collaboration in Master which was released in 2021. This project marks a significant milestone in both Vijay’s and Lokesh’s careers, generating exceptional buzz and enthusiasm among audiences.

“Leo,” backed by Seven Screen Studio, is poised for a grand theatrical release on October 19, with high expectations of becoming the highest-grossing Tamil film on its opening day.

Leo Advance Booking Report

Advance booking for the much-awaited action thriller commenced a few weeks ago in select international markets, and it also opened in India on October 15. The audience response has been outstanding so far.

The movie’s pre-sales in international markets have surpassed $4 million (approximately 33 crores) on the opening day, with expectations of reaching around $7 million (approximately 58 crores) for the entire opening weekend.

Talking about domestic numbers, according to the 8:30 a.m. update, Leo has achieved a remarkable feat by selling more than 1.3 million tickets nationwide through advance booking for the first day.

This impressive ticket sales figure has generated an astounding Rs 26.30 crore in revenue, excluding blocked seats. Leo has now surpassed Jailer’s Rs 18.50 Crore in advance ticket sales for the opening day, making it the top-grossing Tamil movie in this category.

At this rate, before the day concludes, “Leo” is set to surpass Shah Rukh Khan’s “Pathaan,” which had achieved Rs 32.43 Crore in advance booking gross for the opening day. Following that, it will strive to exceed the Rs 41 Crore gross of “Jawan.”

With more than 36 hours left for its release, Leo has achieved a remarkable milestone by surpassing a worldwide box office advance booking gross of Rs 100 Crore for the opening weekend, with a substantial portion, approximately Rs 60 Crore, accounted for on the opening day. This number is expected to touch Rs 150 Crore before the first show hits the big screens on Oct 19.

The advance booking response to the movie has been unprecedented, surpassing anything previously witnessed for a Tamil film. The overwhelming advance booking demand corroborates the enormous anticipation surrounding the movie. If it receives positive reviews upon its release on October 19, “Leo” is poised to redefine box office history in Tamil cinema.
