Resident Alien Season 3: Release Date Prediction and All you need to know!

Resident Alien Season 3: The highly anticipated third season is not coming this year. Here’s everything you need to know!

It’s been more than a year since we last saw the amazing cast of Resident Alien on screens. The second season of the sci-fi drama series concluded its 16-episode run on Sep 28, 2022. Since then fans have been wondering if there will be more of Resident Alienor if—as much as it hurts—they have officially cancelled the show.

As most of you are probably aware, the show tells the tale of Harry Vanderspeigle, an alien who crashes on Earth and takes on the persona of a small-town physician in the made-up town of Patience, Colorado. Harry has a mission to kill all humans, and in order to carry it out, he must blend in with other people. It explores themes of identity, acceptance, and the complexity of human nature by blending elements of science fiction, humour, and drama.

Launched in 2021, the science fiction comedy series Resident Alien has captured the hearts of many science fiction fans. Will the following be carried over into the upcoming, if any, third season? If yes, what will it be about? Curious to know? Keep on reading!

When will Resident Alien Season 3 premiere?

The release date for Resident Alien Season 3 is not out yet. The third instalment of the comedy series was confirmed in July 2022, so we’ve been waiting for this update for quite some time. Filming was completed in May 2023, and the new season was previously expected to premiere this year. Given that the first two seasons debuted only a year apart, a quick release schedule for season three was likewise expected. However, this has not been the case.

In response to a reader’s question, TVLine confirms that Resident Alien season 3 will not premiere on Syfy until 2024. Although no precise date is given, it is stated that the upcoming season will consist of eight episodes. This is fewer episodes than the previous seasons, which featured ten and sixteen episodes, respectively.

Who is in the cast of Resident Alien Season 3?

Following is a list of the main cast members who are expected to return for Resident Alien season 3. Check it out:

  • Alan Tudyk as Harry Vanderspeigle
  • Linda Hamilton as General McCallister
  • Sara Tomko as Asta Twelvetrees
  • Alice Wetterlund as D’Arcy Bloom
  • Corey Reynolds as Sheriff Thompson
  • Elizabeth Bowen as Deputy Baker
  • Levi Fiehler as Mayor Hawthorne
  • Meredith Garretson as Kate Hawthorne
  • Judah Prehn as Max
  • Gary Famer as Dan Twelvetrees

Previous outings of Resident Alien also featured some note-worthy celebrity cameos, including Alex Borstein (Family Guy) as Carlyn and George Takei (Star Trek) as the voice of a Grey alien in season 2. Resident Alien season 3 will also likely include some celebrity cameos, though there haven’t been any yet confirmed.

What does season 3 have in store?

Season 3 of Resident Alien should continue where Season 2 left off by focusing on the impending war between The Greys and humans. While a lot transpired at the end of season 2, Harry’s decision to stand up for his human community and defy his own kind was at the center of the primary storyline. All of this indicates that Harry has made a significant sacrifice by finally realizing the value of preserving human life.

In addition, we learned that Harry had a daughter, whom he sent in an escape pod for safety. Furthermore, it’s possible that Joseph may be a significant threat in Season 3 given that some Patience residents have just discovered that Harry is, in reality, an alien.

Is there any trailer?

Currently, there is no trailer as the progress of the upcoming season has been halted owing to an ongoing strike, and there is no release date. Fans will therefore have to wait a little longer, but don’t worry—we’ll keep you informed as soon as there is any new information from the makers. So stay tuned.
