Bel-Air debuted on Peacock on February 13, 2022. In no time, it becomes one of the streamer’s most-watched original series. The show is a remake of the 1990s classic sitcom, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and is based on Cooper’s short fan film of the same name. It is about a young man who gets into problems back home in Philadelphia and is sent to live with his affluent uncle in Los Angeles.

Will there be Bel-Air Season 3?
Peacock renewed the show for the third season in March 2023 i.e. even before the second season concluded airing on the streamer. Confirming the announcement on March 17, 2023, the cast shared their excitement in an Instagram post in which they each symbolically held up three fingers.
Officially confirming the third season on Instagram, Jabari Banks, who plays Will, captioned his post, “That’s right, we’re back for season 3! The fans like you made this happen and we can’t thank you enough. Keep streaming #belairpeacock only on @peacock.”
He further added, “Working on BelAir for the past two years of my life has been an amazing, life changing opportunity. I’ve learned so much about myself, and I can’t thank you all enough for your continued support! Bringing this story back to life was no easy task, but through love anything is possible. We have poured so much love into this project. We’ve poured so much of ourselves into this project. Seriously, I’m so excited for season 3 guys!!”
When will Bel-Air Season 3 Premiere?
The network gave the series an early renewal back in March 2023, which is exciting news for the fans. Bel-Air‘s Season 3 renewal in March 2023 was historic on Peacock, considering that it was the first scripted series from the streaming service to receive a third season.
When Bel-Air was renewed for a third season, it was expected to premiere in February 2024, in accordance with the release of the first two seasons in February.
However, there is bad news for fans out there. Variety shared that Bel-Air Season 3’s premiere on Peacock has been delayed to 2024 due to the Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike. It means that the third season was intended to return in late 2023.

What will Bel-Air Season 3 be about?
There is no doubt that the new season will continue from where the previous one left off. In the second season, Will’s basketball game rocketed to new heights, thanks, to an early assist from the opportunistic Doc Hightower (Brooklyn McLinn).
However, Banks is more interested in exploring his character off the court moving forward. “I wanna see who Will is outside of basketball,” he recently told Collider.
“I wanna see who Will is outside of basketball. If you take that away and you strip down the layers of who he says he is on the outside, who is he really. We get to see him connected to basketball this season in a way that’s huge, but if you take that away, then what? That’s something that I’m excited for.”

The precise episode count for season 3 remains uncertain, although it is anticipated to feature 10 episodes, in line with the format of previous seasons. As with the first two seasons, viewers can expect new episodes to be released on a weekly basis

However, all of the main cast, including Holmes (Philip “Uncle Phil” Banks), Cassandra Freeman (Vivian “Aunt Viv” Banks), Olly Sholotan (Carlton Banks), Coco Jones (Hilary Banks), Akira Akbar (Ashley Banks), Jimmy Akingbola (Geoffrey), Jordan L. Jones (Jazz), and Simone Joy Jones (Lisa Wilkes) are expected to return.
Original Fresh Prince of Bel-Air cast member Tatyana Ali, who played Ashley Banks, returned in a recurring role as a teacher named Ms. Hughes. Also, Daphne Maxwell Reid made a guest appearance in the second season of the remake.
Showrunner Carla Banks-Waddles said, more OGs could make comebacks in the future, as long as it makes sense.
“We love to include that OG cast in this re-imagining, but never [want] them to feel forced or wedged. It’s so organic because this character of Ms. Hughes, and by Tatyana playing that, she touches on everybody in the Banks family and the Bel-Air Academy family,” she told Boardroom in March.
