Master Box Office Collection Day 3: Thalapathy Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi starrer action thriller ‘Master’ continues its glorious run at the box-office on the third day.
After a bumper opening at the box-office, Thalapathy Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi starrer action-thriller ‘Master’ is holding strong at the box-office. As per early estimates, the gross 3rd day collection of Master is around Rs 16 crore. The three-day total of Master stands at Rs 77 crore plus. Talking about nett collections, the movie collected Rs 14 crore plus on Friday, taking its two-day nett total to Rs 67 crore. Master had a solid opening in Tamil Nadu with the gross collection of Rs 24 crore.
Master has witnessed a big drop in numbers on the second and third day, which is a general trend for south-Indian movies. Down south, box office numbers tend to drop significantly post a big opening. We are expecting a decent jump in numbers on Saturday and Sunday. The movie should gross Rs 120 crore mark by the end of the five-day extended weekend. These are exceptional numbers during a pandemic and considering that theatres are allowed to open with just 50% capacity.
It would be interesting to see how the movie performs from Monday once the buzz settles down. Master‘s Tamil distribution rights acquired by S. S. Lalit Kumar of Seven Screen Studios for Rs 68 crore. The performance on weekdays will decide if it can become a hit in Tamil Nadu. The movie has attained ‘HIT’ status in Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra and Telangana within just 3 days.

Written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Master is a mega project with an estimated budget of around Rs 135 crore. To become a clean hit at the box office, it needs to cross Rs 200 crore (gross).
