1) Abhay Deol dissed actors for promoting fairness products
In a series of tweets, Abhay Deol dissed actors like John Abraham, Varun Dhawan, Shah Rukh Khan, Sonam Kapoor etc for promoting fairness products cream of different brands. While none of the celebs reacted to it, Sonam Kapoor quickly tweeted to Abhay Deol about Esha Deol promoting fairness cream under Garnier too, which Abhay Deol accepted that yes this is wrong too, which caused Sonam a lot of embarrassment, eventually leading her to delete the tweet.
2) Mira Rajput’s speech on working women on Mothers Day
Mira Rajput spoke publicly in an event about motherhood. She spoke about how she doesn’t want to work because she wants to give her child more time as her child is not a ‘puppy’, referring to Kareena Kapoor who rejoined shooting soon after giving birth to Taimur. This remark snowballed into a controversy and working mothers attacked the stand that she has taken. Even Kareena wasn’t really happy about the comment.
3) Sonu Nigam complains about Azaan
Singer Sonu Nigam complained on Twitter in a series of tweets that the mosque near his apartment wakes him up every morning by playing azaan early morning. He went on to rant about how loudspeakers should be banned for mosques, which didn’t go down too well with the Maulvi, who said he will give a reward of 10 lacs to anyone who shaves Sonu Nigam’s head bald and parades him around the city with shoes hanging on his neck. Sonu quickly got his head shaved by celeb hairstylist Aalim Hakim and got the media inside his apartment.
4) Bipasha Basu ditches an event in London she was paid for
Controversy erupted when an event organiser in London alleged that actress Bipasha Basu had deliberately missed her event and used the money given to her for getting a tour of London with her husband. Bipasha was quick to deny the whole allegation in a long open letter.
5) Rishi Kapoor’s tweet on newbie actors not attending Vinod Khanna’s funeral
Rishi Kapoor chided the ‘new’ Bollywood actors for not attending late Vinod Khanna’s funeral: Rishi Kapoor reacted angrily when he found that most of the Bollywood actors had skipped Vinod Khanna’s funeral but were there in full force at Priyanka Chopra’s party the night before. It created quite a rage on social media.
6) Sonakshi Sinha vs Armaan Malik Twitter war
When Justin Bieber tour was announced in India, there were reports that Sonakshi will be sharing the stage with him, which didn’t go down too well with singer Armaan Malik who tweeted that singers should be left to singing and actors should be left to acting, to which Sonakshi dissed him. Though she clarified later that she is not singing at the event, singers like Sona Mohapatra criticized her attitude towards Armaan Malik singers and Sonakshi eventually blocked Sona from following her.
7) Priyanka Chopra slammed for dressing in short clothes while meeting PM Modi in Berlin
PeeCee met our beloved PM Modi in Berlin, Germany and was quick to upload the pic on her social media. The pic shows PeeCee sitting opposite Modi Ji in short clothes and crossing her legs which were slammed by people for being disrespectful.
8) Deepika Padukone’s hot photo shoot for Maxim cover
Deepika was seen dressed in tiny shorts showing off her long legs which were slammed for not being Sanskari. Deepika replied back by posting another picture from the same shoot without any caption.
