Sonam Kapoor gets candid about her friendship with Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna.
Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna have completed 17 years of togetherness. Married on 17 Jan 2001, the lovely couple is celebrating their wedding anniversary today. This is a special month for the family as Twinkle Khanna is making her debut as producer. Her first production venture titled Pad Man stars none other than his husband Akshay Kumar. Slated for release on 25 Jan 2018, the movie also stars Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte. Pad Man will clash with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat.
The Pad Man team is busy with the promotion of the film. In an interview to a leading daily, Kapoor has revealed a secret about Akshay Kumar.
“Akshay Tina se bohot darte hain (Akshay is scared of Tina)!”, Sonam was quoted as saying to Deccan Chronicle.
The national award winning actress opened up about her friendship with Twinkle Khanna. She said, “Actually, I’ve known Tina for many years. During my interactions with R. Balki (director), Tina would never interfere. There’s an etiquette we follow on the sets. He’s the captain of the ship and has to take a call. And this is what Tina follows too.”
Sona is unaware about the clash of Pad Man and Padmaavat. When asked, she said, “Is it really coming? It is not announced officially, isn’t it? If it is, it is good. There is a need for competition when it comes to films and high time that the film releases. Good cinema is good cinema. I don’t believe in competition. Our film is very simple and sweet, and honestly, I am just happy that the film is releasing, more than anything else, and I hope the film does well. I am pretty sure that there is no official statement from the production house of the film (Padmavati) release.”
Akshay and Sonam have worked together in 2011 comic film Thank You. The jodi is reuniting for Pad Man which also stars Radhika Apte. Directed by R Balki, Pad Man is a biographical comedy drama film. It is inspired from the life of Arunachalam Muruganantham, a social activist from Tamil Nadu. The movie will hit the big screens on 25 Jan 2018.
