Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s controversial film Padmavati has been cleared by Censor Board. Rumours suggest that it may release on 25 Jan, the same date as Akshay Kumar’s Padman.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s controversial film Padmavati has been cleared by CBFC. The film has got green signal from the Censor Board but no official announcement has been made regarding its release. Rumors are strong that the film may release on 25 Jan 2018, the same date as Akshay Kumar’s Padman. In case of clash, both movie will suffer at the box office. However, the makers of Padman, are undaunted by this box office clash.

Prernaa Arora, one of the producers of Padman, told PTI that they will release the film as per schedule. “I am clueless what is happening… with clash. I have no idea about it. Even we have heard about it. All we know is Padman is releasing on January 25.”

She added that Padmavati is a beautiful film which should come out soon. She producer affirmed that the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film will not alter the release date of Padman.

Well, there hasn’t been any official announcement regarding release date of Padmavati. Some media channels made these speculations and the rumours spread like fire in the forest. Sanjay Leela Bhansali has to come out and announce the official release date of the film.

Padman, on the other hand, will definitely release on 25 Jan 2018. It features Akshay Kumar, Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in lead roles. Directed by R. Balki and produced by Twinkle Khanna, the film tells the story of Arunachalam Muruganantham and his journey of finding a way to make cheap sanitary napkins for women in rural areas.
