As the worldwide hunger for Korean entertainment grows, Netflix is preparing to add another fascinating title to its extensive catalogue of Korean content. Zombieverse is an upcoming reality show that claims to combine themes of horror, survival, and entertainment in an exciting and original way.

Fans will get to see South Korean performers fending against hordes of brain-hungry beasts in the middle of Seoul. In recent years, Korean entertainment has greatly impacted the global stage, and “Zombieverse” will be no exception.

However, when it will air, who will star in it, and what it will be about remain key concerns among fans. If you are one of them, you have come to the right place. Here’s everything you need to know!

When is Zombieverse going to premiere?

“Zombieverse” wants to capitalize on this global curiosity by providing an immersive experience that appeals to the different interests of viewers worldwide. Netflix released a teaser trailer and revealed the official release date on July 9. Zombieverse will premiere on Netflix on Tuesday, August 8, 2023. The show will premiere on the streamer at 12:00 a.m. PT/3:00 a.m. ET.

What is Zombieverse about?

Contestants in the high-stakes world of Zombieverse are forced into a frightening zombie apocalypse in Seoul, where they must face the undead and the constant quest for basic resources such as food, water, and shelter to secure their survival.

Each day brings a fresh set of difficulties and activities for the candidates to complete. However, there is a significant twist: if any contestant is “bitten” by the zombies, they will face the bleak prospect of being left behind by their fellow competitors.

Here’s the official synopsis via Netflix:

In Seoul, where a zombie virus outbreak has run amok, who will outwit the undead in the face of challenging quests and come out alive?

The show created is created by Park Jin-Kyung of My Little Television and Moon Sang-don of Hey! First Time in Korea? Additionally, it was produced in partnership with Kakoa Entertainment.

Park Jin-Kyung had the following to say about the project;

“I collaborated with Netflix for the first time through ‘Zombieverse,’ and the filming has already been completed. It is a TV project that started with a simple question, ‘How would people react if zombies appear in the real world?’ It will be interesting to watch what role the contestants play ― a hero, a villain or a bystander.”
