Yellowstone Season 5 Episode 5 Recap

The fifth episode, titled ‘Watch’em Ride Away,’ was a calm one. Here are the highlights of the episode:

  • John decided to work from the ranch for the week, to complete the annual task of branding. He’s ordered his assistant Clara to move his meetings to his home and invite the press to the branding. He wants the events to publicize to remind the state of Montana what the Duttons are actually all about.
  • Beth and John discuss Summer’s release. John justifies the decision to free the animal activist, insisting he’ll need her expertise to protect himself from troublesome environmentalists. Beth once disagrees with John, suggesting he’s literally sleeping with the enemy – an unwise act that will come back to bite him.
  • Sarah tells Jamie that he’d need to withdraw himself from representing Montana against Market Equities due to their relationship.
  • Beth and Summer had a violent encounter. Rip breaks up the brawl. Rip suggests they still need to figure out how to get along given they’ll be living under the same roof for sometime.
  • Everyone except Monica and Summer set out for the two-day journey to the mountains.
