  • The cast of “The Curse” is a diverse mix of famous character actors, huge A-list stars, and cutting-edge comedy talent.

The Curse is an upcoming comedy television series created and written by Nathan Fielder and Benny Safdie. Announced in Feb 2020, the filming for the show took place in Santa Fe, New Mexico and Española from June 2022 to October 2022, as per santafenewmexican.

The series explores “how an alleged curse disrupts a young married couple’s relationship as they try to conceive a child while co-starring on their problematic new HGTV show, Flipanthropy. The series promises to merge all of the meta craziness of shows like “Nathan for You” with the anxiety-inducing dread of movies like “Uncut Gems”.

Since Showtime has been the home of some of the best TV shows in recent years, this show will also be a network resident. Even though we only have little information about the new comedy The Curse on Showtime, they are plenty to excite you all. Fans are, therefore, quite eager to see what this comedy series has to offer. When will it premiere? What will be the plot? Here’s everything you need to know!

When will The Curse Premiere on Showtime?

Showtime green-lighted the project in Feb 2020 with Uncut Gems directors/co-writers Benny & Josh Safdie and Nathan for You creator and star Nathan Fielder on board.  Principal photography took place in Santa Fe, New Mexico and Española from June 2022 to early October 2022.

Although we aren’t sure, a Vulture report from August 2022 suggests that the show would premiere in early 2023. We just hope to see the show soon. Meanwhile, you can bookmark this page as we will update the official release as soon as the network announces it.

How many episodes will there be in the first season?

The creators have yet to disclose the number of episodes for the half-hour series. However, when it airs on Showtime, the curse is sure to please both critics and audiences.

What is the plot of The Curse?

The story will centre on a newlywed couple who also happen to be the stars of an HGTV show. This show-within-a-show will be called “Flipanthropy” in a darkly humorous gag.

Unfortunately, the couple’s journey won’t be without bumps as “Flipanthropy” will be a problematic production. Even worse, there will be some curse that will affect the couple’s relationship.

We’re still determining whether this is a physical or symbolic curse. But whatever happens, we’re confident it will be hilarious. Showtime executive Amy Israel has promised (via The Hollywood Reporter) “a groundbreaking satire that is both unexpected and deeply human.”
