Squid Game: The Challenge is an upcoming reality TV show based on the series, and it is one of the most anticipated shows that premieres on Netflix in November. Contestants will compete in a real-life version of the show’s games, albeit without the slaughter of the losing players. Those waiting for the second season of Squid Game are really excited about this reality show as it is expected to lessen some of the anticipation.

When will Squid Game: The Challenge premiere?
Following the enormous success of the drama series in 2021, Netflix ordered a reality version of the series in June of last year, and it’s finally coming to our screens in a matter of weeks.
The all-new competition series is set to debut exclusively on Netflix on November 22, 2023. The show will include ten episodes, with each episode premiering once a week. The ten-part competition series was shot in the United Kingdom.
What will Squid Game: The Challenge be about?
The 10-part reality series will follow the same format as the drama series, with contestants competing in a series of challenges to win the prize fund. The season will include 456 contestants competing for the largest prize fund in reality television history – $4.56 million (£3.65 million).
As of yet, it is unknown what challenges the contestants will face, but we do know that some of them will be inspired by the original show’s challenges, as well as a few “surprising new additions.” The fact that no one dies in this version provides a sense of comfort to fans. Instead of being killed physically, when players are eliminated, ink packs explode on their chests, imitating death.
Who are the players?
The only information we currently have regarding Squid Game: The Challenge‘s cast is that there will be 456 contestants and that the show was filmed in the United Kingdom.
Applications to apply for the series’ first season opened in June 2022 with an announcement video released on YouTube. Netflix invited contestants from around the world but mandated that they must be English-speaking. The streaming service put out a final casting call in September 2022. With 456 real players, it is the largest cast in reality TV history.

What challenges are there in the show?
The series includes South Korean children’s games such as a variation of “red light, green light,” a game in which competitors attempt to scrape forms out of Dalgona candy with a needle, tug of war, and the squid game. Hopscotch or Glass Bridges are two further challenges. However, this Hopscotch is a little different. Instead of landing on the ground, you’ll fall to your death. The worst aspect is that the clock is ticking, so participants don’t have time to consider their options.
Is there any trailer?
Yes, there is. On October 23, 2023, Netflix released the complete trailer for Squid Game: The Challenge. The trailer shows a real-life competition set created from the Squid Game series. Competitors appear to be lining up for the competitions, dressed in the same green game-playing uniforms featured on the original show.
