Sherlock Holmes 3 will hit the theatres on 22nd December 2021. From release date, cast, plot,  here’s everything you need to know about it.

Sherlock Holmes is the most popular detective fictional character. Created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, it is loved by so many people that reading him only in books isn’t enough. So, finally Sherlock Holmes, the action and mystery movie was made and released in 2009. The movie received tons of positive responses that the director of the movie, Guy Ritchie had to make a sequel, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows which was released in the year 2011. Due to the audience’s never-ending love for the movie, the third film of the series ‘Sherlock Holmes 3’ is set to release 2021. Here is everything you need to know about Sherlock Holmes 3:

This movie series is based on an interesting plot which involves the main character Holmes played by Robert Downey Jr. to engage with the villain of the story in mysterious ways along with his best mate Dr. Watson, the character was played by Jude Law. Moreover, Holmes’s detective skills and intelligence to solve the cases makes it more interesting.

When Sherlock Holmes 3 is releasing?

Earlier the movie was expected to be released in December 2020 but due to Robert Downey’s long journey with Marvels, it is pushed ahead by a year. Downey’s has been busy with Marvels movies all these years.

Now that his commitments to Marvel have come to an end and his recent release Dr. Dolittle failed terribly, Robert Downey, Jr. is set to return to the role of Sherlock Holmes. Sherlock Holmes 3 is confirmed to release on 22nd December 2021.

Sherlock Holmes 3: Cast, New Director & Expected Plot

Robert Downey Jr. And Jude Law will resume their roles as Holmes and Watson respectively. Paul Anderson is also making a comeback in Sherlock Holmes 3. Anderson is best known for playing Arthur Shelby in the acclaimed historical crime series Peaky Blinders. Jared Harris will return as Professor James Moriarty.

Dexter Fletcher has replaced Guy Ritchie as the director of the movie. Guy Ritchie who had directed the previous two parts is not the part of this one. When Ritchie was asked about his involvement in the third movie, he didn’t have much to say: “You probably know as much as me. I have no idea what’s going on there.” So, Ritchie not directing the third part is a mystery.

In Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, we saw in the climax Holmes fell off the cliff with Moriarty but luckily survived. Still, we don’t know whether Moriarty survived or not. In the third part, we could expect Holmes and Watson’s brotherhood and Moriarty could also come back and we’ll get to see their rivalry once again.

Other Details about Sherlock Holmes 3

Unfortunately, the trailer is not released yet and the production has also not started. However, we are sure that the sets will be insanely beautiful as the previous two parts. The shooting is rumored to take place in Old West San Francisco as well as California.

Sherlock Holmes 3 has been in development since 2011. A bunch of writers has worked on the script in these years. The most recent is Chris Brancato (one of the credited creators of Netflix’s Narcos). Other writers who had worked on its are Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Captain Marvel), Gary Whitta (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), Nicole Perlman (Guardians of the Galaxy), Drew Pearce (Hobbs & Shaw), and Justin Haythe (A Cure for Wellness).
