Sadak 2 release date: Sanjay Dutt, Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur starrer Sadak 2 to release on August 28 on Disney+ Hotstar.
Sadak 2 is Alia Bhatt’s first collaboration with father Mahesh Bhatt. It will release on Disney+ Hotstar on August 28. Announcing the release date, Alia shared a new poster for the film, which shows her with co-stars Sanjay Dutt and Aditya Roy Kapur, walking on a highway.
Alia wrote on Instagram, “Sadak 2, the road to love streaming on @DisneyPlusHotstarVIP from 28 August.”
Sadak 2 is one of the seven Bollywood movies which have opted for direct digital release on Disney+ Hotstar. These movies are released on Disney+ Hotstar as part of Disney+ Hotstar Multiplex initiative which was a result of theatre shut down due to COVID-19 pandemic. The list includes Sushant Singh Rajput’s Dil Bechara, Akshay Kumar’s Laxmmi Bomb, Ajay Devgn’s Bhuj: The Pride of India, Kunal Kemmu’s Lootcase among others.
In an interview to PTI, producer Mukesh Bhatt had said, “I am compelled to come (on the digital platform) because I don’t see any light in the near future. This is the best I can do to survive. There are certain things that you do, not out of choice but out of compulsion. This is the only option left. It is a no-brainer.”
Talking about Sadak 2, it is a sequel to Mahesh Bhatt’s 1991 film Sadak which starred Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt. It is one of the highest-grossing Hindi movie of the year 1991 with a popular musical score.
Apart from Sanjay Dutt, Aditya Roy Kapur, Alia Bhatt, Sadak 2 also stars Pooja Bhatt, Jisshu Sengupta, Makarand Deshpande, Gulshan Grover and Akshay Anand.
