Ozark is a well-written American crime drama series. The story revolves around an ordinary family which later faces problems after the money-laundering scheme goes out of hand. This eventually leads the family to get tangled with the largest drug cartel in Mexico. The plot continuous further as the husband of the family tries all his will to pay the debt to save his family. Ozark is one of the underrated series of Netflix. It deserves more recognition but the audience fails to acknowledge it.

Ozark has currently three seasons, streaming on Netflix. Season 1 was premiered on July 21, 2017. Season 2 premiered after a year gap in 2018 while season three took two years and was released on March 27, 2020. In June 2020, Netflix renewed the show for its fourth and final season. Ozark Season 4: Release Date and Episode Count

On June 30, 2020, just three months after the previous season’s release, Netflix renewed the series for the fourth and final season. The official announcement was made with a video of number 4 captioning ‘They’re going out with a bang. Ozark will conclude with an expanded 14-episode final season. With that, the production team not only announced the coming of season 4 but also revealed the episode count which was like a cherry on the top.

Netflix has also confirmed that season 4 will be split into two halves. Fourteen episodes will be split into two seven episodes part. Now coming to the release date, we are expecting part 1 of season 4 to premiere in the fourth quarter of 2021. Part 2 should be on Netflix by the end of the second quarter of 2022.

Ozark season 4 production update

Like other Netflix movies and shows, filming for Ozark season 4 too got delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Filming for the fourth chapter started in Atlanta, Georgia in Nov 2020. The first block of filming took place over 38 days and ended in Dec 2020. The latest we hear is that the filming is going on at a brisk pace. New casting calls in May 2021 reveal that filming is pretty much ongoing with plenty of shoots left and planned for late May 2021.

Ozark season 4 cast: Will there be new faces?

The fourth season of the series will see many faces returning to reprise their roles, along with a few new members.

What’s the plot of Ozark?

The plot of the show depicts the life of an ordinary Bryde family gradually becoming a tragic story. When the family gets entangle with the largest drug cartel in Mexico, Marty (Jason Bateman) puts all his will to pay the debt to save himself and his family from the dark world of crime.

In the climax of season 3, we saw Nelson, Marty, and Ruth cremating Ben’s deceased body. Lagunas cartel members attack Navarro’s son’s baptism. Sam is arrested for suspected money laundering. Navarro requires Wendy, Marty, and Helen to attend his son’s second baptism. Nelson shoots Helen, and Navarro tells Marty and Wendy this is the beginning of increased cooperation between the three of them.

The previous season 3 was an immense turn point for the entire show which makes us even more eager to watch season 4. However, for now, we just have to wait for the season 4 trailer to make any further comments about the plot.
