Fans claim that the cast members have played their characters to perfection and that they could relate to the protagonist in some ways as it follows the real subject matter. After the success of two seasons, Netflix renewed the show for its third and final season in May 2020. The announcement came in soon after the premiere of the second season in April 2020.

Fans have been looking forward to the third due to release in Jan 2022. Here’s everything we know about After Life Season 3.

After Life Season 3 Plot & Storyline

In the first season, Tony’s (Ricky Gervais) perfect life shatters completely when his wife suddenly dies. In the grieving stage, Tony loses all hope and struggles to live along with not caring about himself or anyone else.

Although, in season 2, we can observe Tony’s behavioural changes as he decides to choose a new path to live amidst all those grieving. It creates new hope for him as well as for his loved ones. As far as season 3 is concerned, we can expect the show to be in continuation of the previous season. Tony will be seen once again grieving for his father as he lost him in the second season.

The show is heart-breaking and emotional despite comic elements. The show’s genre is called dark comedy for a reason. It touches on some sensitive topics such as the unfortunate death of loved ones, suicidal thoughts, depression, and other realistic feelings that we experience when we lose someone close to us.

However, the dark plot is handled with humour but at some point, you’ll definitely get emotional and feel sad for the protagonist. It is the perfect example of a show that will make you laugh and cry at the same time.
