After Life Season 3 Plot & Storyline

In the first season, Tony’s (Ricky Gervais) perfect life shatters completely when his wife suddenly dies. In the grieving stage, Tony loses all hope and struggles to live along with not caring about himself or anyone else.

Although, in season 2, we can observe Tony’s behavioral changes as he decides to choose a new path to live amidst all those grieving. It creates new hope for him as well as for his loved ones. As far as season 3 is concerned, we can expect the show to be in continuation of the previous season. Tony will be seen once again grieving for his father as he lost him in the second season.

The show is heart-breaking and emotional despite comic elements. The show’s genre is called dark comedy for a reason. The show touches on some sensitive topics such as the unfortunate death of loved ones, suicidal thoughts, depression, and other realistic feelings that we experience when we lose someone close to us. However, the dark plot is handled with humor but at some point, you’ll definitely get emotional and feel sad for the protagonist. After Life is the perfect example of a show that will make you laugh and cry at the same time.

Season 3 will be the final season of After Life on Netflix

Director and creator Ricky Gervais is known to end his shows after two or three seasons and After Life will be having the same fate. The Mirror reports that Ricky Gervais has confirmed that season four won’t be returning.

“I’ve already made my mind up there won’t be a four. “And you do put those things out there to make you remember as it’s tempting but… there’s an old saying that ‘to lead the orchestra, you’ve got to turn your back on the audience’. “That’s true. The audience thinks they want another one, but they’re not sure. So you’ve got to be careful.
