Netflix Shows That Won't Return in 2024

From Wednesday Season 2 to Stranger Things Season 5, here are the 4 most anticipated Netflix shows that won’t return in 2024!

As we enter the new year, Netflix fans are eagerly anticipating the return of their favorite shows. Amid the excitement, however, there is a bittersweet reality for fans of certain series that will not be appearing on our screens in 2024. We all know that the previous year was a difficult one for the entertainment industry, with the WGA and SAG-AFTRA, the writers’ and actors’ unions, striking for the majority of the year.

However, as a result of this, many of the show’s productions went on hold, causing the show’s release to be delayed. Here’s the list of the 4 most anticipated Netflix shows that won’t return in 2024, leaving viewers with a void that will not be filled until the release.

Wednesday Season 2

Wednesday is the most popular Netflix original series of all time, and it’s a shame that we’ll be missing it for another year. The recent prioritization of the scripting process for Wednesday Season 2 by Netflix has shifted the initial expectations of a 2024 filming start date. Therefore, there’s no way the series gets back in 2024. The plot revolves around Wednesday, a cold, emotionless person. Her rebellious attitude hinders her from forming relationships with her peers and gets her in trouble with Larissa Weems, the principal of the school. But when she finds out she has her mother’s psychic gifts, she uses them to solve a local murder mystery.

The Witcher Season 4

Originally, makers had scheduled the filming of Seasons 4 and 5 to begin in June 2023 and conclude in May 2024. But things were delayed due to strikes. Filming for Season 4 is currently scheduled to begin in the first half of 2024. In season four, Meng’er Zhang’s Milva and Joey Batey’s Jaskier will accompany Geralt on his search for Ciri, with Eamon Farren’s Cahir joining them later. Season 4 will also feature the casting of fan-favorite characters Regis, Zoltan, and Angoulême to complete Geralt’s Hansa.

One Piece Season 2

One Piece is undoubtedly among the greatest Netflix series of 2023, debuting on the platform on August 31, 2023. The anime adaptation and the title manga by Eiichiro Oda served as the basis for the series. With over a thousand episodes under its belt, the One Piece anime library is overflowing with ideas for live-action adaptations, and the next season will undoubtedly feature a tonne of content. Even though the second season of One Piece is already in development, fans will have to wait until 2025 to see the show on their screens as there is simply no way it will air in 2024.

Stranger Things Season 5

Even though Stranger Things isn’t the most popular show on Netflix regarding viewership, it is surely the one fans will miss the most. Stranger Things season 5 production is ramping up, with filming possibly beginning as early as January 5th, 2024. While the official release date is still unknown, one thing is certain: The Gang will not be back on Netflix screens by 2024.

Stranger Things seasons take place one year apart, but it is unknown whether season 5 will take place in 1987. Season 4 took place in March 1986. Given how quickly the Upside Down is spreading throughout Hawkins and how imminent Vecna’s threat is, how far forward in time will they go? sadly, there won’t be an answer for it until 2025.
