Bollywood Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has been charged under section 354 of the IPC that deals with assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty.
An FIR was filed against Nawazuddin Siddiqui yesterday on the basis of a woman’s complaint stating that Nawaz assaulted her daughter after a tussle over parking space issue. The woman blamed him, his brother and his support staff of manhandling her 24-year old daughter. Nawaz appeared before the police one day after the FIR was filed and completely denied the allegations of physical assault on a woman.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui was quoted saying-
“Being a responsible citizen I came & gave my statement. Society’s members are with me and the allegations are false.”
Nawaz’s lawyer Rizwan Siddiqui informed that they are going to file a defamation case after the investigation is completed. The woman who filed the FIR gave the following statement to the Indian Express-
“Our society has been having a dispute with Nawazuddin who started staying in our society nearly a year back, since he had completely occupied the parking space of the building. Today, when my daughter went to click photographs of the actor again occupying the parking space, he along with his brother and support staff manhandled her and physically pushed her.”
