Godzilla Vs Kong release: The biggest movie of the year, Godzilla vs King is all set to release across the globe. Here’s a look at the release schedule in different countries.
The next Hollywood biggie Godzilla Vs Kong is all set to hit the theatres worldwide this week. The fourth movie in Legendary’s “MonsterVerse” will release in India on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, a day ahead of its international release in some countries.
“After looking at the tremendous response the trailer has received and sensing the huge anticipation for the film, we are delighted to announce that we are now releasing Godzilla Vs Kong two days earlier than scheduled so that fans in India get to experience this film in cinemas the sooner!” said Denzil Dias, vice president and managing director, Warner Bros. Pictures (India).
Godzilla Vs. Kong release in the United States
In the United States, the monster biggie will release simultaneously in theaters and on HBO Max on March 31. This is the same release strategy followed by Warner Bros. for its last release Wonder Woman 1984. In countries that don’t have HBO Max, the monster movie is supposed to open in theaters on different dates.
Godzilla Vs Kong release date in Australia and New Zealand
The epic monster film will release in Australia and New Zealand on March 25, 2021, a day after its release in India, Taiwan and Europe. It will open in Argentina, Chile, Germany, Hungary, Mexico, Netherlands, Portugal, Russia, Saudi Arabia, and South Korea on the same day.
The monster movie opens on Friday, March 26 in Bulgaria, Brazil, China, and Vietnam.
Godzilla Vs Kong release date in Europe
In France, Hong Kong, Iceland, Indonesia, Singapore, and Taiwan, the film will hit the big screens on March 24, 2021.
Godzilla Vs Kong release date in the UK
In the United Kingdom, the movie will officially skip the theatrical release and will be available to watch online from April 1, 2021. Warner Bros announced that Godzilla Vs Kong will be available to rent online, via Premium Video on Demand services, from Thursday, April 1.
Godzilla Vs Kong release in Japan
In countries, including France and Japan, the movie will not get a release until May. The expected release date is May 14, 2021.
About Godzilla Vs Kong
Directed by Adam Wingard, it is the fourth movie of “MonsterVerse,” a series of films about the two giant monsters from Legendary Pictures. It started with 2014’s Godzilla, followed by 2017’s Kong: Skull Island, and 2019’s Godzilla: King of the Monsters. Godzilla Vs Kong finally brings the two iconic screen monsters taking on each other. The last time these two monsters were against each other was in 1962, in the movie King Kong vs Godzilla.
“This is a battle that hasn’t been waged since 1962, so for us, it was like — It’s gotta be the most definitive version and the most satisfying version of these two monsters coming together,” says Wingard.
“In doing that and knowing that everybody has got their favourite, we had to ensure to satisfy both their supporters. They both have their unique special powers and weaknesses…so that’s all taken into consideration. For us, it was most important that this is the most epic battle of all time,” he adds.
